Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

There is food that we eat because we need it to survive and there is food that we eat when it helps us to cope with life. This often-habitual behavior is a pattern created by seeking food for comfort.

Overeating is linked to dopamine release in the brain, which gives a feeling of happiness and satisfaction. Food intake is linked to reward and the chemical release in the brain is exactly what is needed when we feel stressed, anxious or depressed. Diets are often stressful and not particularly enjoyable. People can feel guilty and frustrated if they are unable to continue with the diet, sometimes resorting to eating more.
Treatment of weight loss is never direct as habits related to food can be very complex and sometimes not even food related. Weight loss is treated by engaging emotional responses and individual changes of focus. This, in turn, reduces cravings and changes the relationship to food. It is an individual and unique process for each client. Clients can expect to respond to the treatment within the first 3-4 sessions.
Milling, Gover and Moriarty (2018) conducted two meta-analyses of research papers reporting on the effectiveness of hypnosis for weight loss. The first meta-analysis compared hypnosis with a control condition of no treatment. Across 14 trials, hypnosis proved an extremely effective method of weight management both at the end of active treatment and for 6 of the trials, at the end of a long follow-up period. The average person receiving ‘some form of hypnosis’ lost more weight than 94% of the control participants who received no treatment for weight loss and had still lost more weight than 81% of the control participants at follow-up. “I am a 55 year old woman who has either over or under eaten all my adult life and I finally realised I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life repeating these bad and soul destroying habits so I decided to try hypnotherapy as a last resort. It only took a few sessions and one day I woke up without feeling the need to over eat and now I’m eating normally for the first time since my late teens.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to change bad habits.”

“I am still feeling extraordinarily well and managing my eating really well, slowly but healthily losing weight. It surprises and amazes me daily how darned sensible I’ve become! It’s utterly incredible to me! I listen to your download almost every day, however, usually it’s when I go to bed so I never seem to hear the end of it, I’m fast asleep. Thank goodness you explained we still hear for half an hour after ‘falling asleep”
